The Project Begins

The new cabinet has arrived and the project begins.

Childhood memories, nostalgia and family history are and always will be paramount within my artistic practise. Questioning the past, reliving memories and the physical relationship that we have with objects that have been left behind or passed down through generations form a crucial part of our identity and existence. I am also an enthusiast of keeping past skills alive which I feel is being lost in our society ie knitting, Sewing and Crochet.

My aim is to illustrate the importance of these processes, the importance of keeping memories alive and feeling part of a process that gathers momentum as the years progress.

The outcome of this project will be to leave a lasting impression on anyone that views it, to evoke memories from the past and family history and to share the realisation that these thing are what make us unique.
